My Suicidal Sweetheart: Max and Grace
Michael Parness
www.fullglassfilms.com

This film was originally called Max and Grace. We prefer that title but, whatever you call it, the movie compels audiences to really care about the characters and participate in their journey.

Michael Parness assembles a great cast of top players to help him tell this beautiful story. David Krumholtz (Slums of Beverly Hills) carries the film with understated intensity and honesty. Natasha Lyonne (American Pie) is unpredictable, exasperating, and yet totally lovable as Grace. Also a great turn by Karen Black (as Grace's crazed mother as well as Rosanna Arquette (Desperately Seeking Susan) and Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos).

There is cutting wit throughout, allowing us the relief of laughter when faced with life's pain. The acting is impeccable, the editing tight, the direction inspired, and the music creates a fitting backdrop of mood. Given the present-day Hollywood blockbuster craze, full of big budgets, big names, car crashes and special effects, My Suicidal Sweetheart, aka 'Max & Grace', is a refreshing departure. Give yourself a treat and see this movie.
