This year's Sacramento Film Festival features over 70 films from around the world including two outstanding international shorts programs: The first, Around the World in 80 Minutes examines life from five different parts of the world. From China comes Wen Jun Yang's "Sojourn", about a drifting freelance female writer, who meets a man from Shanghai. "Will she stop her drifting life and stay with her lover?" The story takes place in contemporary Shanghai. The filmmaker will be in attendance.
Perhaps the greatest collection of short Films you will see this year is World's Greatest Shorts, including Italy's "Viola Fondente": Viola is an overweight but beautiful woman. Her frustrating life is pivoted on a monotonous job and a hateful husband. She will take her revenge soon, thanks to the very candies and chocolate she likes so much.
World's Greatest Shorts takes the viewer on many journeys including one of a Hasidic Reggae/Beat Box/Rapper in Matisyahu. This documentary follows Matisyahu as he performs in New York City and explains his conversion to Hasidism and his mission to spark spirituality in others with his music.
