The Sacramento Film Festival, responsible for showcasing Visionary filmmakers like Producer John Daly (Platoon) and visionary programs like UCD sponsored "Environmental Visions at Home", proudly announces another first.
Last year the festival began a new program called "Nor Cal All-Stars" to honor the very best local films in our region with not one, but two all-local showcases. This amazing program was a tremendous success, bringing over 30 fantastic shorts to the big screen and thrilling audiences. The concept was simple: No gimmicks, no devices to follow, or restrictions, just a heartfelt exhibition of the best local short films created.
So how can we improve the program, and its support of our local community? By putting our money where our mouth is.
This year, the Sacramento International Film Festival is offering $1,000.00 to the filmmaker who is found as a 'Local Visionary' by our panel of judges. This cash award is given for one outstanding Nor Cal film, and may be used by the filmmaker in any way: to cover production expenses, college tuition, equipment or simply as personal reward for a job well done.
Again, there is no gimmick, no device and no strings. The Sacramento Film Festival simply wants the best and brightest local films Northern California has to offer. We only ask that the work is a Sacramento premiere, and that films are true shorts (under 20 minutes). Our runner-up in the judging will receive $500, and third place will receive $250. This is a call to all Northern California-based filmmakers seeking major recognition for work well done to look no further. Submit your film today.
Submission Deadline October 1st.
