Congratulations to all selected filmmakers for the 2006 Sacramento Film Festival. In order to ensure that your film does play, we need your strict cooperation with the following:
All films except two features (Max and Grace and The Sisters) will be screening digitally. We will build digital reels that contain your film and others. Your screening master MUST be submitted to SFF NO LATER than February First. The master MUST be submitted as a DV Cam, DVD or Mini DV format. We require one master copy and one DVD copy to be used as back-up. Each must be clearly labeled with your film title, running time and the clear words MASTER or BACK-UP. These tapes are non-returnable and must be submitted quickly for maximum efficiency.
As 90% of all shorts come to us as 4 by 3, that's how we project. Please send only 4 by 3 aspect ratio or a letterboxed 16 by 9 in standard NTSC. Remember, your film is one part of a larger program. You may send 16 by 9 native, but it will be compressed to appear as a letterbox image on a 4x3 screen.
Filmmakers, remember, media is cheap but mistakes are costly. Please submit your masters as requested so that we may build our digital reels. We appreciate your cooperation and will work our hardest to see to it that your experience in Sacramento is a fantastic one.
